Well said Magnum PI my thoughts exactly ! Someone once told me that the 'truth' was like a blanket that is too short. I think it's purposed to be so by the GBBG. -

Sounds vulnerable, as I was. WT loves these type of people they do good work for free. -

Why are witnesses all so highly stressed?
by stuckinarut2 inwitnesses are so anxious, stressed, highly strung..... so much for ones who are supposed to be "the happiest people"..... thoughts?.

Yeah VirgoChik it was real fun running the mikes whenever I could, great opportunity to check out cute sisters feet and calves ! (one noticed and kept trying to hide her feet under the chair as she gave said comment ) It got to the point that the only 'fun' I had in life was 'self abuse'. I knew it was all BS when my 2 year 'dragged out' study was over but bully boy teacher elder kept pressuring me and making me feel so special that he somehow convinced me to not put off baptism any longer. Pure mauipultaion. I got a taste of it a few months in when I started dating a cute big haired sister and my 'hours' went down. Got a squint eyed puff mouthed talking to. Left that congo not long after and went to French where I got to be know as 'a weak single brother' to be pitied. -

Shithead cult, all great replies above. I tried to toe the JW line, run a business, stay active in sports, keep my hobbies. Lasted for a couple years last time I rode a motocross bike was in '04. Just no time to do any maintenance on my home had to pay to have my lawn mowed at one point. Now so far behind on home repair will take yaers to get back on top.
Anyone remember the WT where they were bitching on two brothers cleaning out leaves from their rain gutters ? There was an accompanying picture of that. Assholes, I got so burned out depressed and anxious I became suicidal and did a few half assed attempts at it.
Fully as I was goi9jng through the motions wearing the little hall clothes and church socks I couldn't wait for 'The End' to come so that the hellish routine would be over so that I could relax and get some.

I once read on the machinist's forum about a low key timid draftsman being berated constantly my some bullying manager. One day after YEARS of this treatment the draftsman got up right after the last abuse session and hit the bully over the head with a heavy gear fracturing his skull. The injured bully was taken away by ambulance, no one questioned anything and charges were not pressed. The bully came back to work and was never the same after.
Mind you this happened in the seventies, might not fly in this day and age.

BEST POST EVER Liberator, sincere thanks for sharing. Please take care and make the rest of you life the best of your life. I'm trying to and have found my stress level and blood pressure to have improved immensely since DA'ing. I was in on and off a little under 10 years converted on my own and thought I was privy to true 'Bible Study' There were many red flags that came up along the way but the 7 trumpets blasts ( hot air ) of revelation pointing to seven assemblies over a 7 year period in the WT history was too much. I realized that I had been duped then and there. Tried to salvage what I could a little longer but gradually became disillusioned and faded, then DA'ed after years of floundering. thanks to the ARC and the BlueDot.org I'm a second generation owner of a small machine and tooling works, came close to loosing all due to the brainwashing. Good luck mate and take care love you buddy we're here for you.

not all JW's are asleep
by Damascus ini am an 'active' jw but i do not agree with most of the doctrines inc blood, baptism, the memorial etc etc.i took the emblems at the memorial because i think we all should recognise and accept jesus' command to remember him.
not for one minute do i think this is only for the so called anointed.
i know it is full of man made error and that my fellow brothers and sisters are in a state of mindless, spiritual unawareness.

D, I left for the very same reasons you stated above. The March 15 2015 WT was pivotal for me, as the GB was pointed to ad nauseam in that issue right at the very moment I though I could go back and sift through things like you are trying to do. I can't handle it and at the last assembly promptly had a panic attack during the WT review. DONE and GONE -

Greetings D, check out these links you may find something you like. I DA'ed a couple months ago and consider my self as simply a Biblical Christian. Easy and straightforward like Jesus said it should be. Enjoy and let me know :

Feeling Betrayed?
by stuckinarut2 inthis is the way many of us feel no doubt: feeling like we have been betrayed by a faith that has hidden so much from its believers, and covered up some serious past and present teachings and practices.. and yet, we are the ones treated with disdain, contempt or suspicion due to fading from activity!.
simply amazing that we have had to make a conscious decision to stand up for what is right and not be a part of the organisation for genuine and sincere reasons.
and yet they slander us, malign us and make us look like the ones with the problem!.

I can't take it anymore!
by BlackWolf inmy dad was recently made an elder about maybe 6 months ago, and now he is never around he's always at work or doing some kind of jw crap.
now he conducts the watchtower study and is even doing the special talk tommorow.
he's become an even more strict controlling jerk than he was before, and i'm never allowed to go out and do anything non jw related because he doesn't have the time.

Cool Rebel 8 I like that, finger in pocket ! I do that when I'm driving or alone at the shop. The Mr. Bean movie when he goes to the US as an art gallery custodian has a good skit on him flipping off people when in a convertible, here it is !
Wolfie I was an orphan and my uncle blew most of our inheritance through mismanagement. Made my brothers Tourette's way worst and lost over a 100 acres of paid for land my Dad left us with. I counted the days from 15 yo to 18, finally taking back control of my life. Hope this helps. Good suggestions above.
